Programs For Seniors  The Waterloo and Cedar Falls Public Libraries have several programs especially designed for seniors. The Third Age Project began with a grant that was developed by the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Public Libraries, the Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, and the Jesse Cosby Center. The program provides library and other associated outreach services to seniors where they live and congregate -- in their homes, retirement and nursing homes, and senior centers. This outreach targets senior citizens -- both active seniors and those confined to their homes or assisted living and nursing homes. Find out more on the Third Age Project webpage or call Betsy Kirk, the Third Age Project coordinator, at the Waterloo Public Library at 291-4497 ext. 3542.

The Waterloo Public Library also has a homebound delivery program. Individuals unable to visit the library may be eligible for the program. Contact the Homebound Coordinator at (319)291-4521 for details.

Library patrons who have difficulty reading the type on a computer screen or using a mouse may be interested in trying out the specially-equipped ADA computer workstation at the Waterloo Public Library.
