Internet Resources - Homework Help

The Homework Help Corner (2nd Floor Learning Center) will be open from 2:30-8 pm* every Wednesday.

*Summer hours are: 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm every Wednesday (June 2 through Sept. 1).

The center is open to all ages, from children to adults. Staff is available to help kids and teenagers with homework, basic math skills, math time tests, reading skills, writing skills, proofreading, and computer skills. Word processing and Internet is available for school research or homework projects. Teenagers are encouraged to come and study even if they don't come with a specific question for the staff.

The Homework Help Center is also an excellent resource for adults and adult students. Adult students from Hawkeye and Upper Iowa are encouraged to come with questions regarding computer skills, research skills, reading skills, basic math skills, writing skills, proofreading, and resume preparation. Microsoft Tutorials for Microsoft Office Suite are available that will teach you the program step by step.

The Center's best asset is our ability to provide a neutral interaction with your child. We have often witnessed frustrated parents and children coming to the center for homework help. Most of the time, the child leaves understanding his or her homework better. (Parents of young children must stay in the building and every 15 to 20 minutes check on the progress of their child.)
